American politics' glacial pace in adopting reforms, subservience to
special interests and lack of concern for the welfare of its citizens
must be put to an end. Greens don't just talk about solutions - we act
to bring them about. Greens believe it is important to be the change
we want to see in the world. Through activism, nonviolent protest, and
grass-roots democracy we plan to raise the bar in American politics
and put the people's voice first.

Current Activities
- The Greens of the Ozarks are currently taking a break to regroup after the election. We are planning a leadership and dialogue workship with a representative from the Eastwind commune. To get the most up-to-date information, you should join the discussion and announcement lists from the main page.
Previous Activities
- Petition Drive - The Missouri Greens' drive to get the Green Party on the ballot was successful! We received more than enough signatures and were indeed on the ballot in November. Unfortunately, perhaps because the presidential race was very close, we did not meet our national goal of 5% or our statewide goal of 2%, so the petition drive will begin anew, hopefully accompanied by a more concerted get-out-the-vote effort. Here are some of the resources we used while petitioning.
- National Convention - The Greens of the Ozarks sent 2 delegates and an additional representative to the National
Convention in Denver, CO on June 24. We had a great time, learned a lot about local organizing, and came home very inspired by many great speeches.

Planned Activities
- Farmer's Market/Food Circle - We hope to encourage the
year round presence of Farmer's Markets in the Ozarks, increase
the availability of organic produce throughout the region, and eventually
create a Food Circle to encourage farmer-to-consumer delivery arrangements
and other alternatives that support ethical, eco-conscious agriculture
in southwest Missouri.
- Running Candidates - After we get Nader/LaDuke on the ballot,
we hope to begin running Greens for local and state offices in as
many elections as we are able to. We plan to have a consistent,
vocal presence in city council as well.
